I’d say you’re right dan. This post was largely in response to steve’s “Baracking the wealth” post about the waiter’s tip that was ‘redistributed’ to a bum.
But yes, our country is running headlong towards socialism.
It should be noted that neither candidate was against the bailout. Thus, Barack favors progressive taxation and nationalizing banks while McCain only wants to nationalize banks.
At best you can argue that Obama’s plan is marginally more progressive, which seems an awful lot like splitting hairs, especially by comparison to bigger issues like bank nationalization.

Besides this is the Daily Show, we can’t trust the way they edited this. Or as you guys say, its meant for comedy and not news.

So you’re voting for Barack?

LOL. Vote for the avowed socialist or the one masquerading as a free marketer. Gosh how about neither gets my vote.

So it’s Nader then. Got it.

I’d say that it’s much more clearly socialist to vote for the state nationalizing banks than it is to favor progressive taxes.

McCain favors progressive taxation too.

Well at least you accept my point. And you did vote for the candidate that supports more socialistic policy even it its by a small hair.
