Useful Criticism for Iraq
It goes without saying that this kind of strong reporting was already covered by the likes of MSM sources. These criticims go along way towards allowing me to understand the problems in Iraq. Hopefully some of this reporting will have a more subtle effect on Iraq policy as opposed to the more typical response of either we should pull out or stay.

but what if, instead, we oversimplified the debate about how to deal with iraq by only talking publicly about whether troop levels should be raised. Has anyone else noticed how rediculous this debate is? Nobody points to actual evidence of needing more troops or not, but rather vague ideas of what might happen if the troops did go. Would it overstrain the administrative system? possibly. Would it help push the terrorists out of baghdad? I have no idea. Yet the public debate for or against it is almost entirely based on whether someone thinks iraq is “winnable” any more, rather than whether sending in troops is actually a good idea or not.
