Environmentalism Succinctly Characterized

The article details the change in attitude one of the founders of Greenpeaece had towards nuclear energy. The quote is reference to a current Greenpeace representative.

Mr. Townsley of Greenpeace disputes that. “We spend a lot of time looking at the science,” he says. “We’re pro-science. But you have good and bad science. Science has the ability to be our savior or our downfall.”

it’s ok, they’re just voting on the side of the science they like. I mean science isn’t fact is it steve?

  2. Darwin Says:

Man those private charities are so awesome huh?

  3. steve Says:

Both of you hit me with the same underlying argument. That there is some kind of ‘truth’ to science and this guy is ignoring it for political reasons.

  4. Darwin Says:

    And?

  5. steve Says:

Its just intereting because you have very different argument but they both rely on a fundamental assumption.

  6. Darwin Says:

Actually I had assumed taht you were taking the position that these environamentalists were stupid for their take on science; otehrwise I’m not sure what you were originally posting about.

  7. steve Says:

Stupid, not so much. Its silly how brazenly his in moralizing science.

  8. boose Says:

well, if you don’t believe that science is based on some underlying truth, then why not moralize about it? Even if the evidence points the other way, who cares?
