A Libertarian Argument Gone Terribly Wrong
According to this article, animal rights activist advocate for the killing of a baby polar bear. They give this reason:
Frank Albrecht, an animal rights activist, said: “The hand rearing of Knut is in itself a breach of the animal protection code. He will be reliant on humans forever and this cannot be right.”
Aachen zoo director Wolfram Ludwig said: “I don’t think it is right that he should grow up fixated on his keeper and reliant on him for everything. He will not be a proper Polar bear.
I am not libertarian when it comes to killing cute baby polar bears because they had to be reared by man.

That’s pretty funny. Once again, I’d like to go on the record as hating most environmentalists and animal rights activists.
You may scoff at the endangered species act (and it does suck in a bunch of ways), but look at the alternatives that the private sector has managed to produce.
BTW, googling “Frank Albrecht animal rights” turns up absolutely nothing except this source, so I wonder if this isn’t mostly a media fabrication since they’re only citing one source calling for this execution, and he’s someone nobody has ever heard of.

What a difference a 100 years make. Your grandfather would not have had any trouble taking a club to the head of this baby. I personally think we have won the wildlife battle if we stay in our habitat.
