One More Reason to Hate Capitalism
According to this story, because there are so many millionaires in the US the value of being a millionaire has diminished. It no longer is considered the status symbol it once was. Great, thanks capitalism, by making everyone rich you make it so no one can be better than anyone else simply be being rich. Bring back the days of wealth redistribution when just a few bureaucrats at the top were able to redistribute enough money to be rich.

“And the fact is, $1 million doesn’t go as far these days as it used to. For one thing, it’s vulnerable to inflation — someone who bought $1 million worth of goods in 1957 would need $7.3 million to buy the same goods today, according to Federal Reserve figures.”
Yeah, good job there capitalism, always making things cheaper and cheaper.

And here I thought inflaation was primarily caused government policy such as minimum wage.

Then it would seem pretty weird that minimum wage hasn’t kept up with inflation for decades, leaving anyone making minimum wage below the poverty line.
