I Love the Smell of Multiculturalism

In the morning. Tolerating as a stated political policy is arguably one of the dumbest decision ever made by a political party EVER.

Wow. Talk about bowing to terrorism. I have a theory though that this is a ploy to increase the already present anti-Muslim sentiment among Britons. But that Italian court case, well that is just plain f-ed up. No matter what your ‘culture’ is, if you are going to live in a country, you must abide by its laws. If they want to beat their daughters they can go back to whatever 3rd world hole they crawled out of.

  2. steve Says:

Jesus Michael, whats wrong with you? You need to respect other cultures. You probably want the whole world to be just like America with a McDonald’s and Star bucks on every street corner and ‘constitutionally guaranteed’ rights for the citizens. If we had it your way there would be no cultural diversity at all. All cultures would respect woman, homosexuals, and people of different races and ethnicities equally. And that would be such a boring world to live in.

Besides no culture is better than any other culture. Some cultures like to throw rocks at homosexuals until the aggregated blunt trauma to body and face is so great the the person does a horrible painful death, while other cultures forbid such actions. But neither is better than the other. You are such chauvinist. Its disgusting.

  3. Jamie Says:

    LOL!!

Did you really just imply that in America we respect women, homexexuals and people of difference races and ethnicities equally?

  4. steve Says:

    You must of liked crash.

  5. Jamie Says:

I didn’t like Crash. Stop avoiding the question. Do you really believe that in America we respect women, homosexuals and people of different races and ethnicities equally?

  6. Jamie Says:

Still waiting for your response here Steve. It’s your can of worms to open. Too bad your demographic is almost completely white, straight males.

  7. Jamie Says:

    New posts…. Yet I wait….. Sigh……

  8. steve Says:

The problem is the term ‘we’. From the perspective of the state I would argue that equality is just about as good as it will ever get.

  9. darwin Says:

No, Steve, you wouldn’t argue that. Come on, think.

State legislation gives all kinds of special rights and protections to minorities, which you’ve railed against repeatedly. So you want more equality right there.

On the other side of the argument, gays still can’t get married most places, and it’s hard to deny that gerrymandering disenfranchises minorities in many areas.

Are you saying that these aren’t problems, or that we shouldn’t bother trying to address them, or that you don’t think it’s ever going to get better than this and therefore we’re justified in acting rhetorically as if we’re perfect?

  10. Jamie Says:

Wow!! And they say John Kerry waffles….

So, from the perspective of the state, this is as good as it will ever get? Women and minorities should expect less pay for same effort and education? Homosexuals should expect to not be able to serve their country because of a sexual predisposition?

    Your scale is broken.

  11. steve Says:

    Darwin is right,

On the first point I’m very much annoyed at state sponsored reverse racism.

On the second point, there are minor problems which is why i said its just about as good as it gets.

As for the gay Issue, there is discrimination by the state based on marriage that I strongly disagree with.

But if we compare to other states, particularly the ones that liberals have tendency to defend we find the discrepancy in minority treatment massive.

    Jamie,

I don’t think the state pays people different based on their gender and or sexual preference. Don’t ask don’t tell is lame.

    So in sum,

I open up with cultures that stone people to death for homosexuality and you fire back with AMERICA DOESN’T TREAT MINORITIES EQUALLY. To prove your point you come up with don’t ask don’t tell.

The US allows homosexuals to serve provided they don’t explicitly state their orientation. Meanwhile others cultures throws multiple rocks at a homosexual until they succumb to the internal trauma and die. You win America is unfair and not perfect just like COUNTRIES THAT STONE PEOPLE TO DEATH. What was i thinking.

  12. Jamie Says:

Look, of course our culture is much, much more progressive then many societies. But, to say that it is as good as it can get is a stretch.

  13. steve Says:

For most people it never be as good as it gets but from my perspective its really damn close.

  14. Jamie Says:

You also happen to be the same sex, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation as the ruling class. I would guess that that would influence your perspective.

  15. Dan Says:

Even if I happen to agree that we should as much as possible be open to the idea that we might have room for improvement, I don’t think a person’s victim-hood status is a pertinent indicator of the validity of his or her argument.
