This Guys Knows Nothing About Cars

Seriously who is dumb enough to change their oil every 3,000 miles. Just a dumb idea.

But thanks to the innovation of a competitive free market combined with the efficiency of a small number of gigantic, monolithic corporations, today’s cars last much longer than the 80 years and 200,000 miles that this guy got out of his 1929 model.

    Right?

The Model A was the second kind of car to come off of Henry Ford’s newly invented assembly line. The same assembly line, that in many way, has served as a lighting rod of criticism from ignorant socialists and liberals.

In many ways the Model A represents everything you hate about capitalism.

Who the hell is atacking the assembly line? Maybe I’d like to see a worker-owned assembly line, but the technology is fine.

Are you prepared to admit that a market (cars) which is dominated by a very small number of huge conglomerate companies does not have enough honest competition, and enough incentive for innovation, to adequately serve consumers?

First, i should note this post was intended for something very different. Nevertheless, lets do this:

    1. The assembly line is the development that transformed production from small scale workshops to massive factories. You might be distinguishing your self from other socialists by arguing in favor of assembly lines but that seems weired because they represent everything you seem to hate about large scale organization.

    2. Honest competition between large corporations is probably more a function of industry and most certainly a function of state regulation. Translation: i will need more context before ascendeding to your statement.
