Capitalism Rolls Global Warming Without Even Trying
America is so good at kicking ass it doesn’t even have to try and it wins. To bad so many of you hate this awesome country.
Lest you think the above are “extremists,” consider how deeply invested the “mainstream” is in a total fiction. At the recent climate jamboree in Bali, the Rev. Al Gore told the assembled faithful: “My own country, the United States, is principally responsible for obstructing progress here.” Really? The American Thinker’s Web site ran the numbers. In the seven years between the signing of Kyoto in 1997 and 2004, here’s what happened:
•Emissions worldwide increased 18.0 percent;
•Emissions from countries that signed the treaty increased 21.1 percent;
•Emissions from nonsigners increased 10.0 percent; and
•Emissions from the United States increased 6.6 percent.
It’s hard not to conclude a form of mental illness has gripped the world’s elites. If you’re one of that dwindling band of Westerners who’ll be celebrating the birth of a child, “homeless” or otherwise, next week, make the most of it. A year or two on, and the eco-professors will propose banning Nativity scenes because they set a bad example.

joke aside (I got the notion of that article you refer to): It is not even ironic to think of banning nativity scenes - especially those which you guys have: In my entire life, I have never seen anything like that - namely, a DRIVE-THROUGH Nativity Scene (in Millard, btw). The only country where I believe that DRIVE-THROUGH-NATIVITY-SCENES (imagine, that is so PATHETIC - why would you DRIVE through a nativity scene: You can walk through it) are possible is the US. If, let’s say, for Christmas, all people that used to drive through a nativity scene would go to a nativity scene instead, it would be a nice sign. And yes, if you ask me, drive-through-nativity scenes should be banned.

which reminds me to ask you whether you’re going to Omaha for
Christmas.
?!?!?!?????????? If you drive through your nativity scene then (before they’re going to be banned), think of it

Given that I’m an atheist I don’t pay much attention to nativity scene. I’m not sure how serious to take your statement about banning drive through nativity scenes. It serious it would be awfully anti-human of you.

Nice of the writer to cite statistics over a 7 yeear period 3 ending 3 years in the past, to refute a statement Al Gore is making today about the current political climate. Especially when the statistic is only about the Kyoto accords, which Gore doesn’t mention in the quote. But hey I’m sure his argument is still valid anway. I mean, it’s a good sound bite, so it must be relevant, right?

I wonder if number beyond those years are available. Besides Al Gore is like king of sound bites. For Christ sake you saw that movie with me that was scripted entirely out of sound bites. What was its name? Oh Yeah, inconsequential truth.
