Reason Enough to Not Vote Obama

The trip Obama took around the world did not impress me in the least. Others agree:

The second impact of the trip stems from Obama’s mistake in assuming international acclaim and media adoration would impress the folks back home. Watching tens of thousands of Germans listen to his worldly appeal that “this is our [who is “our” exactly?] time,” voters back home may not be impressed. And poll numbers suggest they aren’t. The blatant appeal to international world opinion (why exactly was he giving a campaign speech to tens of thousands of non-voting Europeans?) may not be the recipe for success.

Up to this point I was sure Barack would win the election but, honestly, this kind of attitude practically guarantees he will lose. I just don’t understand how you fail to see the lack of wisdom in campaigning in Europe when the election is literally one continent over. It makes absolutely no sense. In the event that Obama does not win the presidency I think a serious argument can be made that his defeat started with ridiculous international tour.

“USA vote for me! Europe loves me!”

Wow, someone continues to sound like a Republican fanboy…. Let’s just put on our politician pants for a few minutes…. Without reaching out to the “world” the elephants would have been all over Obama for only caring about domestic issues. In order to reach out to the world, he took a measly two freakin’ weeks to tour around and hear opinions of those he would have to deal with internationally to establish a well informed foreign policy. What exactly is the problem you have with understanding that this was strictly a political ploy….

And before you start criticising obvious political ploys, keep in mind McCain will launch many of his own over the next number of months. Is your blog going to give fair treatment when this occurs?
