Prepare for Global Cooling
A Russian scientist has this to say:
Astrophysics knows two solar activity cycles, of 11 and 200 years. Both are caused by changes in the radius and area of the irradiating solar surface. The latest data, obtained by Habibullah Abdusamatov, head of the Pulkovo Observatory space research laboratory, say that Earth has passed the peak of its warmer period, and a fairly cold spell will set in quite soon, by 2012. Real cold will come when solar activity reaches its minimum, by 2041, and will last for 50-60 years or even longer.
Sorry its science. It has to be true. We need to increase our industry to get more CO2 in the environment in hopes of staving this impending cold period. Legislators should pass laws making it mandatory that cars expel as much CO2 as possible. Developing alternative energy sources should be forbidden. Its the only way to stop global cooling.

How is this science? It appears to be an opinion article rather than primary research. And if it is science, it isn’t very good science - note that I can say that by appraising it directly rather than making an appeal to consequences or appeal to motivation. For example:
“Carbon dioxide cannot be bad for the climate. On the contrary, it is food for plants, and so is beneficial to life on Earth. Bearing out this point was the Green Revolution—the phenomenal global increase in farm yields in the mid-20th century.”
By this logic, because iron is necessary for human survival, iron can never be bad for humans and people with the disease described in the link below are actually malingering just to perpetuate that myth.

Either that, or the Green Revolution really was a consequence of science giving us better strains of crops and better fertilizers and pesticides to use in growing them, after all.

Dan, im a little surprised to see you reject physics. I was always under the impression that was a discipline of study you like quite a bit. Its kind of alarming to see you deny that its science.
